    We have so many amazing contestants that we had to make this a TWO PART event!

    Saturday, June 13th schedule:

    5pm cst. 7-12 year old contest followed by 13-21 year old contest

    7pm cst. 22year old + contest

    Right now our adult (22+) category is FULL of 10 amazingly talented contestants & we have a list of alternates waiting for their chance

    Our 13-21 year olds & 7-12 year olds are almost full- We want YOU to apply before it’s too late!

    Special considerations for talent that are not singing. We’re looking for the next big magician, dancer, comedian or creative talent!

  • Heritage Day Celebration

    Jack Thomas House 122 E. Main Street, Leitchfield, KS, United States

    Mark your calendars and make plans now to join us for our biggest event of 2026! In celebration of America’s 250th birthday and the Historical Society’s 50th anniversary, we are hosting a Heritage Day Celebration in and around the Jack Thomas House in Leitchfield on Saturday, June 20th from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm. We will have different stations set up in the parking lot next to the Jack Thomas House showcasing how our pioneer ancestors lived. Admission is FREE and everyone is welcome.
    There will be a mobile blacksmith, as well as demonstrations on log cabin joinery, butter churning, and more. There will be opportunities to weave your own cane footstools and make children’s toys such as corn husk dolls and button spinners. We will have our community quilt on display. The Jack Thomas House and Buchanan Log Cabin will also be open for tours.
    And, at the end of the day, we will come together to celebrate the Society’s 50th anniversary with refreshments. As part of the ceremony we will recognize this year’s scholarship winner and invite our local elected officials to sign our annual Grayson County History Week proclamation.
